About Me
Hello, my name is Edith Velez-Ruiz, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with you at my private practice! I graduated from Simmons University School of Social Work with an MSW. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker providing therapy since 2020. I've been working in the mental health field since 2016.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in multiple levels of care, including residential treatment programs, community mental health, crisis intervention services, inpatient care, and outpatient therapy.
I provide a compassionate, grounding space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported as you work toward meaningful change. I recognize and honor the importance of race, culture, gender, and sexual identity in the therapeutic process. Our work together will reflect a deep commitment to understanding how these aspects shape your experiences and how they intersect with your healing and growth. I strive to create an inclusive, affirming space where all aspects of your identity are respected.
I have experience supporting individuals across the lifespan. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, drawing from various evidenced-based practices. I have experience working with individuals with various mental health diagnoses, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder.
